Blog,Blog,Blog

Today is my very first day to blog.  What the heck is a blog anyway?  My son thinks I am from the, as he likes to put it "the Brady Bunch" era, because I have no idea what a blog is and I have no idea how to twitter.  I know what the terms are when I hear them, but I have NO idea what they mean or how to do them.  He, my son, is helping my husband, who, by the way is unemployed at the moment, set up a web site for his new ministry.  They are very excited about this new direction in our lives.  Oh, didn't I tell you, my husband is a Baptist minister.  So, I decided to set up a blog to let my son know that I was still viable and relavent in this new age of fast paced technology.

So here I am, in my kitchen (actually my mom's kitchen), blogging to my heart's content and hoping that some of what I have to say will be helpful to today's women, especially pastor's wives, for that is what I am.  I have been a pastor's wife for 35 year's and during that time, I have come to realize several things that I would like to share.  So ladies, pull up a chair, get a cup of tea or coffee and join me in the kitchen.  I think we will all be surprised.

As I said before,  we have moved back to our hometown after 35 years.  We came back from St. Petersburg, Florida to bring my mom back to our hometown to live.  She and daddy were living with us in St. Pete after daddy was taken ill 3 years ago.  After daddy died mom stayed with us and then she died  1 1/2 years ago.  Now were are living in their home, the home I grew up in, and waiting for the Lord to lead us into our next adventure.  We were at a church in a nearby town for a year, but it did not work out.  That is  WHOLE other story. Mike, my husband, is a wonderful pastor and an anointed preacher.  e is an especially evangelistic preacher and I think that sometimes that scares people into actually looking at themselves and considering the consequences of their actions.  I believe that is called conviction.  We are actually enjoying visiting other churches and worshiping with them.  It is interesting to see how different each church conducts itself.

Well I have to go for now.  I think I am going to have some of that ice cream I am in the cuisinart last night.  It was really too sweet because the recipe called for 1 can for condensed milk, but it just did not taste sweet enough so I put 2 cans.  Boy, I tell you it was definately  SWEET ENOUGH .  I believe next time I will follow the recipe!  See you next time......
