Round and round and round we go, where we stop, only God knows!!

Well, as I sit here at the kitchen table on Labor Day evening, I am pondering OUR future  and the Labor that lies ahead of us. We have been back in our home town for 2 years now and it appears that we are about to uproot again.  We are praying about this.  I am examining the prospects from every angle and believe me there are many angles.  Right now there appears to be only ONE choice.  FLORIDA.  Back to my son, daughter-in-law and two perfect grandchildren.  The prospect both excites and terrifies me.  They say (who are THEY anyway) that you can never go back.  But we were not in Sarasota and this will be a new beginning there.  I do love my kids and their extended family.  I hope they love us or at least can tolerate us.  If not, this will be a long existence for one group of us!  Just to think that I will be able to care for my babies again and keep them is just about more than I can stand!!  But before that can happen, there is much "labor" to be done.

Last night we had dinner with Donna, Walter, their son Jason and his sweet family.  We will certainly miss all these wonderful family members here.  I get so tickled sitting around the dinner table just listening to the conversation when we are with the Allen clan, especially when they are all together.  Last night Walter was in rare form and was talking about listening to sermons and how some preachers have him in the palm of their hands and right when "the preacher will have the nail about the drop in the plank and finish the deal, he will pull out 3 more nails" and ruin it.  If I could catch them all and remember them, I could write a book on "Walterisms" and it would be a best seller.  He says the absolute funniest things and tells the funniest illustrations.  I will miss that!

Donna and I took the guys to see "The Help" today.  We felt it would be appropriate on Labor Day.  Since we live in Alabama and lived through those days, and We had already gone to see it together and thought it was a great movie, we figured they would love it too.  WRONG.  They thought it was a chick flick.  Although, they did have some fairly interesting comments.  That will teach us!  Well I will sign off for today.  Busy week ahead, doctors appointments and we will be going to Florida in a couple of weeks.  Mike has an engagement in Ocala and then back to Tallahassee and I will be going on to Sarasota to see my kids and the grandbabies.  Can't wait.  Kathy in the Kitchen
