As I sit here at the kitchen table, I am coming to the realization that BLOG is a 4 letter word. If you tell a young adult that you blog, they look at you as if to say, "Hey lady, you are way too old to understand the social network, how it operates with blogging, twittering and the way we roll on FB". If you tell someone your own age or older, they look at you as if you have just cussed. I started this thing because my son hacked me off because he kept telling me I was in the dark ages with the computer and now I see that I really was. So I determined in my spirit that I would relearn and hone my computer skills.
I was once a wiz at the computer. When I worked in an office for an executive and the PC first came on the scene, I could work with Lotus, Word Perfect, Microsoft Word and even Harvard Graphics with the best of them, but when I left the corporate world and start my own business of Medical Transcription, I left that behind and just worked with word processing. When you are not involved in that medium daily or on a regular basis, you just do not keep up with what is going on and boy did I get left in the dust! So... my son motivated me to get off my duff and get my FB account going again and find out how to blog. I have really enjoyed this blogging thing. I have a lot to say (any of you who know me know this) and this gives me the way to get it all out. (Incidently, "they" say that women have 30,000 words inside them to get out in a day. What do you think about that? Do you get out all 30,000 in one day? Fortunately I have someone that at least pretends to listen to some of the 30,000. Bless his heart. That's what we say about people in the south. But that's another blog.)
My point is (what was my point? on yeah!) that we as "middle age" adults (and I use that term loosly) can also be socially adept on the computer using FB, blogging, twittering and other social mediums to connect, express ourselves and feel viable in this face paced world. We can still learn, share, and have fun, after all this should be the "most fun" time of our lives. Don't you think?

Diane Spencer, Donna's friend in FL, here. I agree Kathy 100 %. Best way to keep up with our kids and grandbabies is FB. although I have noticed that they are getting a little more 'selective' with their posts. ROFL.
Only thing us being 2 hours away from all the granbabies sometimes I want to cry when I see all the family gathering pictures and other people lovin' on my babies! But we are in birthday mode so we will be headin' down every month now thru Jan. Pray for gas prices to go down please LOL
