It's a blog, blog, blog, blog world!

I read today where Blogger is updating their site and I am very excited about it.  Since I know nothing to begin with, I hope I will be able to take advange of this new sleek, more friendly site and learn more about interface, setting, stats and things that will help me include those of you who dare to read this VERY imperfect and VERY new writer.  Thank you all for actually reading this!   I love you all!!!

I have always read that those who cannot do, teach; well maybe that goes for those who blog as well.  Since all of  my medical problems, I have not been able to do much, so this new blogging thing may be a fun way for not only keeping ya'll up to date, but also a way to get some things off my chest.  What do you think?  After a couple of weeks, I may let loose with a few things that have been on my mind for a while.  You know Mike is writing a book on the state of the church titled "Church by the Book".  ( By the way, that will be the name of his new web site when he gets it finally set up.)   I too have experienced "the church of today" lately and I have a few opinions of my own that I have kept to myself!

However, for now, since we are unemployed, I am gathering things  for a giant yard sale that my cousin is having this weekend.  I hope to sell enough to provide for September income.   God has been good enough to provide Mike a place to preach the first and third Sunday's of September and the third is in Florida (which will give me an excuse to go on down to Sarasota and stay with the kids while Mike goes on to his prayer retreat next week).  God is so... good.  I have finally applied for disability.  I know I should have done this a long time ago, but be that as it may, I have finally done it.  Please pray for me that the answer will be yes.  They have already denied SSI.  So please pray that SSD will be approved.  It will not nearly be enough for even our health insurance, but maybe God will lead Mike into the right chuch by then.  I know that every church is not closing their ears to God's voice as are so many across this country today.  Mike is such a good and Godly man and has so much to offer a church. He has a voice that reaches people and a passion for the message burning in his heart.

Until next time, this is Kathy in the Kitchen.  LOL

I love your blog Kathy! I noticed a post on Facebook and decided to check it out. You are doing a great job! It somehow makes me feel like I am back home in LaFayette :)
Come see us at Green Valley Baptist in Hoover!
Keeping you in my prayers....
